Thiruvananthapuram, June 16: The daughter of a senior IPS officer in Kerala has been booked for allegedly assaulting her father's driver, following which she has also filed a counter complaint against him. Gavaskar, the driver of the Additional Director General of Police's (ADGP) Sudesh Kumar, is undergoing treatment at a Thiruvananthapuram hospital after allegedly being beaten up by the IPS officer's daughter.

In his police complaint, the driver has alleged that when he went to pick up the IPS officer's daughter from a morning walk, she abused him for arriving late. He said that she insisted that the keys of the car be given to her, to which he refused and was beaten up by her.

The driver's wife has alleged that her husband was being ill-treated by the police officer’s family.  She met Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan, who termed the incident serious and ordered a probe.

Meanwhile, the police officer’s daughter filed a counter-complaint alleging that the driver had outraged her modesty and abused her. Following this, non-bailable cases have been filed against the both of them reportedly. The police officer's daughter has been charged for voluntarily causing hurt or obstructing the duty of a public servant and the driver has been charged for use of criminal force to outrage the modesty of a woman.
