New Delhi, April 14: Close on the heels of the rage erupted across the nation against the perpetraters of Kathua gangrape, a similar incident came to light from the national capital, where a 19-year-old was confined, raped and physically assaulted for 11 days. The ordeal ended only after the victim managed to escape and return back to her house in Delhi's Sultanpura.
A case has been registered with the Delhi Police under the IPC (Indian Penal Code) sections 354D (stalking), 365 (kidnapping or abducting with intent secretly and wrongfully to confine person), 344 (wrongful confinement for ten or more days), 323 (voluntarily causing hurt), 376 (rape).
According to the victim, she was lured away by one of her male friends on March 30. The accused met her at 11:30 pm that night, and took her to a house where she was confined for the next 10 days.
The girl claims she somehow managed to escape from the first floor of that house and reach straightaway to Sultanpuri, where her residence is located. Her parents immediately rushed to the police.
The incident comes amid the ongoing cry for justice across the nation against the accused who murdered the 8-year-old girl in Jammu's Kathua after raping her in a temple for eight days.
