Crime Journalist Jyotirmoy Dey Murder Case Verdict: Chhota Rajan Found Guilty, Jigna Vora Acquitted

After seven years of investigations, the verdict in the case is finally announced today.

Mumbai, May 2: In one of the most sensational cases that happened seven years ago, MiD DAY crime reporter Jyotirmoy Dey – or J Dey, as he was better known – was allegedly shot by a seven-member gang affiliated to notorious gangster Chhota Rajan. Today a Special Court in Mumbai Court has pronounced don Chhota Rajan as guilty and has acquitted journalist Jigna Vora in the murder case.

In 2011, the incident took place in broad daylight in Hiranandani, Powai. According to reports, the case was first placed in the hands of the Mumbai police, who successfully filed charges against Rajan and journalist Jigna Vora, among several others, it was taken over by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) in 2016.

Dey was familiar with the underworld happenings, and his vast network helped him to keep himself updated with the latest news. The veteran journalist had published two books-Khallas and Zero Dial. Dey had exposed several illegal activities where the top underworld goons were involved. After seven years of investigations, the verdict in the case is finally announced today.
