Jammu & Kashmir, October 30: In a shocking case of incest from the Kashmir valley in Baramulla district, a man has allegedly raped and impregnated his daughter. Police have arrested the man, who is a daily wager in Gulmarg. The accused's son filed a complaint against him that his sister has been raped by their father.

The victim was sent for medical examination, after which it was confirmed that she was raped. The police have registered a case under Section 376 (rape) of the Ranbir Penal Code (RPC) and started the investigation. The girl was confirmed 12 weeks pregnant. India was shaken by the horrific rape and murder of the Kathua victim earlier this year. There has been a tremendous rise in incidents of sexual assaults against women and minor girls. The POCSO Act was amended, post the Kathua rape came in the news and started grabbing all the headlines.
