Mumbai, May 21: Resident doctors of Mumbai's Sion Hospital are on a one-day strike after a patient's family allegedly thrashed two resident doctors at JJ Hospital. As a mark of solidarity, Sion doctors will be on a strike today. On Saturday. two resident doctors were thrashed by relatives of a patient, who died at JJ Hospital. The patient was being treated for a gall bladder ailment, and her family have complained that she passed away because of negligence on the part of the doctors.
According to an ANI report, security has been deployed outside Mumbai's Sion hospital today ahead of the strike.

According to reports, resident doctors at JJ Hospital staged a candle-light march on Sunday, to demand more security for the hospital. On Saturday, the victim's kin ransacked the ward and thrashed the doctors on duty. The video of the incident has gone viral on social media. Police have registered a case against five-person, and have arrested four of them.

This is not the first time, that doctors have been thrashed by the relatives of the patient. Such incidents are on the rise these days, and doctors across the country have asked for stringent punishment and also strict rules, which can provide them more security.
