New Delhi, July 18: The Narendra Modi government has been facing immense flak for not taking adequate measures for the Jet Airways employees who lost their jobs recently. Commenting on if the government is doing any significant steps to revive Jet Airways, Hardeep Singh Puri, Civil Aviation Minister, today in Lok Sabha said, "Each airline prepares its business plan on the basis of its own market assessment and liabilities. "Jet Airways Staff Who Went Jobless Due To Crisis Get Help From Narendra Modi Government, Website To Be Launched To Help Them Find Jobs In Other Airlines

He further added, "Mobilizing financial resources and ensuring efficient operations as per the business plan is the responsibility of the airline. Government of India has no role in raising funds for Jet Airways, as it is an internal matter of the airline."

The government has promised to help provide employment to the jobless staff of Jet Airways. Puri said while replying to Members in the Rajya Sabha on the Airports Economic Regulatory Authority of India (Amendment) Bill, 2019, that a website would be launched listing staff of the now-defunct Jet Airways airlines and help them to find jobs in other private airline companies.

Jet Airways owes over Rs 8,500 crore to a consortium of 26 banks led by State Bank. Apart from this, over Rs, 13,000 crores to the tens of hundreds of vendors are owned and as an effect, around 23,000-odd employees have been affected.
