Mumbai, September 20: Jet Airways flight 9W 0697 Mumbai to Jaipur dated today, made an air turn back due to a loss in cabin pressure. The reason being, the crew forgot to select the switch to maintain cabin pressure. Reportedly 30 out of 166 passengers on board experienced nose and ear bleeding, and some even complained of a headache. Commenting on the condition of the passengers, Dr Rajendra Patenkar, Chief Operating Officer, Nanavati Hospital said, "Most of them will have mild conductive deafness for some period of time. Till then they've been advised not to fly again. 5 passengers have come here till now. At this point of time they needn't be admitted, consultants are evaluating them. The flight's cockpit crew has been taken off scheduled duties pending investigation. According to an ANI report, passengers while recounting their horror tale said, "Oxygen masks came out but no one gave us warning or instructions. They announced after 15 minutes that we're landing but didn't even tell where. It was very scary."

Another passenger Darshak Hathi said, "After we took off the AC malfunctioned, then air pressure system malfunctioned too & oxygen masks came out. Some of us experienced nose bleeding & headache. The flight landed at Mumbai airport after an hour & we were told that we will be shifted to a different flight. This is an unfortunate incident."
