Jet Airways 9W 0697 Mumbai-Jaipur Flight: Passenger Recounts Mid-Air Horror as Cabin Pressure Falls

Mumbai, September 20: In a shocking incident, a Jet Airways 9W 0697 Mumbai-Jaipur flight was turned back to Mumbai mid-air today as, during the climb, the crew forgot to select switch to maintain cabin pressure. 30 out of 166 passengers on board experienced nose and ear bleeding, some also complained of a headache. The passengers are being treated at Mumbai Airport. According to the latest update, the flight will take off from Mumbai for Jaipur at 10.15 am.
Darshak Hathi, a passenger who faced a harrowing time said, "After we took off the AC malfunctioned, then air pressure system malfunctioned too & oxygen masks came out. Some of us experienced nose bleeding & headache. The flight landed at Mumbai airport after an hour & we were told that we will be shifted to a different flight. This is an unfortunate incident." Due to the low cabin pressure, oxygen masks were also deployed as the flight was in its climb. The flight’s cockpit crew has been taken off scheduled duties pending investigation.
