Jammu & Kashmir: Internet Services Suspended After BJP Secretary Anil Parihar & Brother Murdered
The killings of Parihar brothers drew severe condemnation from all quarters.
Jammu & Kashmir, November 2: Internet services have been suspended in Jammu following the murder of BJP J&K Secretary Anil Parihar and his brother in Kishtwar on Thursday. Mobile internet services have been limited to 2G in the rest of Jammu. With the decrease in speed, mobile users can only send text messages on WhatsApp, Facebook and messenger, etc. Internet services have been suspended in Kishtwar too. The men were shot dead on Thursday, by unidentified gunmen. Anil Parihar, BJP General Secretary of Jammu And Kashmir, Shot Dead; Section 144 Imposed in Kishtwar.
Following the incident, Section 144 of the Code of Criminal Procedure (CrPC), prohibiting the assembly of more than four persons at public places was imposed in the area. Ajit Parihar was an employee of the state Financial Corporation. The attack comes in the wake of a spree of terror attacks in South Kashmir over the last few weeks.
Following the murder, people staged angry protests in the communally-sensitive town and manhandled senior police officials. The killings of Parihar brothers drew severe criticism.
