Srinagar, Sept 1: The Army on Saturday gunned down three terrorists in an encounter in Jammu and Kashmir's Bandipora district. The gunfight began on Friday after the Army launched an anti-militancy operation Chandajan forest area. A soldier also lost his life in the operation.
“Three terrorists were killed in an operation in Danna in Bandipora district of north Kashmir,” Srinagar-based defence spokesman, Col Rajesh Kalia told news agency PTI. "Arms and ammunition have been recovered from the slain terrorists whose identity is being ascertained. The operation has ended," he added.
The operation is over, and further details were awaited. Two militants were killed in an encounter with security forces in Hajin area of Bandipora district on Friday. Security forces launched a cordon and search operation in Hajin area following information about presence of militants there.
