Srinagar, June 6: Security forces have killed three terrorists in Machhil sector of Jammu and Kashmir on Wednesday as they were trying to infiltrate into India along the Line of Control (LoC). Search operations are underway. The infiltration bid has been foiled just a day before Home Minister Rajnath Singh is set to embark on a two-day visit to the valley.
The home minister will review the Ramzan ceasefire during his visit to Kupwara, where a week ago an army patrol party was attacked. Terrorists had attacked an Indian Army patrol party on May 31 by lobbing grenades. According to a report published in News18, Singh would also review the progress of the Kupwara and Baramulla under the Aspirational Districts Scheme.
The Centre has suspended all the military operations in the valley during the month of Ramzan, but the number of terror attacks have not decreased during this period. Even Pakistan, despite agreeing to follow 2003 ceasefire agreement has not shied away from firing across the LoC.
