One army personnel injured in a grenade attack at a patrolling party in Shopian's Ahgam on Friday morning
Shopian, June 29: One army personnel has been injured in a grenade attack on Indian Army's patrolling party in Shopian's Ahgam on Friday morning. Security forces have cordoned off the area. A search operation has been launched. In a separate incident, an encounter between security forces and terrorists is underway in Kupwara district in which one terrorist has been killed.
Earlier this week, two Lashkar-e-Taiba terrorists were killed by security forces in an encounter in South Kashmir’s Kulgam district. One of the terrorists was identified as LeT's self-styled divisional commander Shakoor Ahmed Dar. The third terrorist, however, surrendered during the encounter.
Security Forces have resumed military operations in the Kashmir Valley after the Centre's decision to end Ramzan Ceasefire. Grenade attack incidents were also on the rise during the month of Ramzan when military operations were suspendend in the valley. The security arrangement in the valley have been beefed up in the region during the Amarnath yatra.
