Srinagar, June 22: In the wake of the ongoing encounter that is taking place between terrorists and security forces in Jammu and Kashmir, internet services have been suspended in Srinagar and Anantnag to avoid the spread of rumours. As per the recent update, three terrorists have been gunned down by security forces in Anantnag's Srigufwara area. One policeman is killed and two civilians are also injured.

According to an ANI report, commenting on the encounter that is underway, S.P. Vaid, J&K DGP said, "Encounter started in early hours of the morning, there was information of 3-4 terrorists' presence. 3 bodies (of terrorists) are being retrieved. One Policeman is reportedly martyred and two civilians are injuries in it."

Reportedly, the encounter was fierce and security forces had to resort to tear gas shells and pellets to disperse the demonstrators, who were were pelting stones. Several demonstrators and security personnel were injured in the clashes.

The encounter comes a day after suspected militants fired upon a police vehicle in Pampore area of southern Pulwama district in Jammu & Kashmir.All the three officers injured in the firing were taken to the nearby hospital. One of them, constable Tanveer Ahmad, died at the hospital, and the other officer was declared stable. It was also the first attack since the imposition of Governor's rule in the state on Wednesday, a day after BJP broke their alliance with PDP in Jammu & Kashmir.
