Dehradun, June 20: Prime Minister Narendra Modi is slated to lead over 60,000 Yoga performers at the Dehradun Forest Research Institute on Thursday, June 21. Elaborate security arrangements have been made in Dehradun, with over 3,000 security personnel deployed along with the special commandos and sharpshooters. The venue is guarded by over 60 metal detector doors, along with over 1,000 CCTVs installed for thorough surveillance.

To facilitate the arrival of yoga performers from the nearby towns and villages of Uttarakhand, over 1,000 were put into service by the state government.

The Yoga participants were asked to arrive at the venue by 5am. The official function was scheduled to begin at 6am. PM Modi was expected to begin his yoga session, along with the 60,000 performers at 7am.

To ensure cleanliness at the venue, compact machines have been installed for immediate disposal of the garbage wastes. To guard the mobile phones and other key belongings of the participants, waterproof pouches were provided at the gates of venue.

A day before he was scheduled to lead over 60,000 yoga enthusiasts in Dehradun, Prime Minister Narendra Modi issued a message via his Twitter handle saying yoga is the "passport" to health assurance.

"Yoga is the journey from 'me' to 'we'. It promises balance, calm, helps boost concentration and gives immense strength. As we approach the #4thYogaDay, I urge people around the world to make Yoga a part of their lives (sic)," PM Modi had tweeted.
