Chandigarh, August 13: The BJP expelled former AAP minister Sandeep Balimiki just hours after his induction following public backlash over his rape charges. Sandeep, previously with the AAP, joined the BJP on Saturday, August 10. Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini, who travelled from Pataudi to Panchkula for the event, was in attendance.

After a photo of CM Nayab Singh Saini presenting a turban to Sandeep Valmiki went viral, old reports of Sandeep's controversies resurfaced on social media. Upon learning of this, the BJP acted swiftly. Following the backlash, in a letter issued by BJP state general secretary Surendra Poonia, it was stated that former Delhi minister Sandeep Balmiki had joined the BJP, but he had concealed his background. As soon as the facts came to light, the BJP revoked Sandeep's primary membership. The party clarified that Sandeep will have no association with the party in any capacity in the future. Who Is Sandeep Balmiki?

Sandeep Balmiki, originally from Sonipat, served as the Minister of Women and Child Development in the Aam Aadmi Party's Delhi government. In 2016, he faced serious allegations from a woman in a controversial ration card case. As a result, CM Arvind Kejriwal removed him from his ministerial post and expelled him from the party.
