Hyderabad, March 31: Exceptionally heavy rains and hailstorm, accompanied by strong winds and lightning lashed Hyderabad city on Saturday. Among other cities, life in Bengaluru, Hyderabad and Mysuru came to a standstill after the sudden high-intensity downpours, hailstorms and strong winds. Traffic flow was affected by the arterial roads as unusual heavy rain caused inconvenience to commuters.
As per reports, the pre-monsoon activities are likely to continue over the southern region for next few days. The weather during the day would be humid and warm meanwhile mornings would be comfortable.
As per reports by Skymet Weather, the southern peninsula has been observing scattered pre-monsoon rainfall activities for the past few days. The report said that itis expected that these activities would expand over South India during the next 24 hours.
Detailing the cause of unusual rainfall, the report further added that a cyclonic circulation is prevailing in the lower levels over South Kerala Coast due to which a trough is extending from Madhya Pradesh to Coastal Kerala across Karnataka and Maharashtra.
“These pre-Monsoon activities are likely to occur due to the various weather systems prevailing across the states”, Skymet informed. As per weathermen, short spell of rain and thundershower activity is expected across many states of Southern Peninsula. These weather activities are likely over few parts of Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, South Karnataka, West Tamil Nadu and adjoining Kerala.
