Mumbai, February 2: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) said that an active Western Disturbance is very likely to affect Northwest India from February 2. Similarly, an induced cyclonic circulation is very likely to form over West Rajasthan and neighbourhood on February 3. Due to this, Northwest India including the state of Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh, Delhi, and Uttar Pradesh are expected to witness rains and hence there will be no relief from cold day conditions.

IMD has said that Western Himalayan Region will witness fairly widespread to widespread rainfall or snowfall during February 2 to 4. Meanwhile, isolated hailstorm likely over Jammu Division, Himachal Pradesh on February 2 and 3 and over Uttarakhand on February 3 and 4, said IMD. Surface winds at the speed of 15-25 kph are expected to blow over Punjab, Haryana, Delhi, and UP for the next two days. IMD forecast strong winds of the speed reaching up to 40 to 50 kmph gusting to 60 kmph very likely over Northeast Arabian Sea and along and off north Gujarat coast. Meanwhile, fishermen are advised not to venture into these areas.
