Lucknow, April 30: The Uttar Pradesh administration on Sunday transferred 36 IPS Officers including Police Captain (SP) of 17 districts. Unnao district police captain named Pushpanjali Devi has also been transferred. Unnao was recently in news for the Unnao rape case in which Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) MLA Kuldeep Singh Sengar is the main accused. Pushpanjali Devi has now been given duty at the DGP main official. Pushpanjali has been replaced with Harish Kumar in Unnao. Harish Kumar for a long time had been in the DF department. Questions were raised about Pushpanjali Devi in the Unnao Rape Case. Speculations were regarding Pushpanjali's transfer. Many experts believe it was only a question of when and not why.

Manoj Kumar has been appointed as Faizabad's new SSP. Subhas Singh Baghel, who has been promoted to the post of DIG has been appointed in DIG security. Shiva Simmi Channappa has been transferred from Khiri to Shahjahanpur, KB Singh has been transferred from Shahjahanpur to Bulandshahr. Sabharaj has been transferred from 24th PAC Moradabad to Bahraich district. In Police Headquarters in Allahabad, SP Rajesh Kumar will now be SP of Balrampur. Rahul Yadavendra has been made the SP of Firozabad. He was previously with ATS Sitapur.

Rajesh Pandey and Ajay Sahani have been appointed as SSP of Meerut and Aligarh respectively. Ravi Shankar Chavi will be the new SSP of Azamgarh. Similarly several other transfers and promotions have been made. Check the full list in the images below:

The big reason behind these transfers is the recent criticism the Yogi Adityanath government has come under regarding the law and order situation in the state. Though the state police has been carrying out encounters in the state, the situation hasn't really improved. This seems to be a post damage image repair by the UP CM intended to send a tough signal to the officers before the crucial 2019 General Elections.
