Unnao Rape Case: Victim Asks Justice From CM Yogi, MLA Kuldeep Sengar's Wife Meets DGP to Plead For Husband
Atul Sengar has been accused of raping an 18-year-old woman (when she was a minor) in Unnao last year, for beating her father to death earlier this week.
Unnao, April 11: In a fresh twist to the Unnao Rape case controversy, Sangeeta Sengar, wife of accused MLA Kuldeep Sengar said that there is some political motive behind the Unnao rape case. She met DGP OP Singh in Lucknow and said that she had come to him to plead for justice for her husband. “Make my husband & girl (rape victim) undergo narco test. My daughters are traumatised. We're being mentally harassed. No evidence has been presented yet, still he's being labelled as a rapist”, Sangeeta Sengar said.
Earlier in the day, the victim requested Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath to provide her justice. “I appeal to CM Yogi Adityanath to provide me justice. The DM has confined me to a hotel room, they are not even serving me water. I just want the culprit to be punished”, she added. On Wednesday, a Special Investigation Team (SIT), headed by ADG Lucknow zone Rajeev Krishna, arrived at the residence of Unnao rape victim.
On Tuesday, Atul Singh Sengar, the brother of Bangermau MLA Kuldeep Singh Sengar, was arrested by a team of Lucknow Crime Branch from his home district Unnao in connection with the death during judicial custody of the father of a minor girl. As per reports, DIG of Police Praveen Kumar said the charges in the case will now include murder. The victim has alleged that the BJP Kuldeep Singh Sengar and his aides raped her last June. She further said that police did not investigate her allegations and failed to name Sengar in an official document that recorded her complaint. However, the BJP MLA has rejected the charges and has termed the Unnao rape case as a political conspiracy.
