Kulgam, April 11: An encounter is underway between terrorists and security forces at Khudwani area of Kulgam district in South Kashmir. According to official sources, Two to three terrorists are reported to be trapped. The Indian Army and Jammu and Kashmir Police are jointly carrying out the operation. Six additional coys of CRPF moved to the spot.
Mobile internet services suspended in Kulgam and Anantnag districts of South Kashmir following the encounter at Kulgam. Train services on Srinagar-Banihal route suspended as a precautionary measure. However, trains to ply normally on Srinagar-Baramulla route.

One Amy personnel was martyred and two were injured in the gun battle. Local started pelting stones at Security Personnel leading to clashes. Three civilian were killed in the clashes and 35 were injured, reported, NDTV.
Till now in 2018, security forces have killed 57 terrorists, whereas 11 civilians have lost their lives in various operations and 25 security personnel have attained martyrdom. There has been a surge of terror activities in Kashmir valley after the encounter of Hizbul Muzahideen commander Burhan Wani in July 2016
