Pulwama, April 30: In a big breakthrough for security forces in Jammu and Kashmir, top Hizbul Mujahideen commander Sameer Tiger and another terrorist Aqib Khan were killed in an encounter which broke out today in the morning in Drubgam in Pulwama district. Two civilians were also reported killed during the encounter, whereas one army officer and a jawan were injured in the encounter.

Joint Operation is launched by the Indian Army, Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) and Jammu and Kashmir police. According to the police, the two injured army men of Army’s 44 Rashtriya Rifles were shifted to 92 Base Hospital in Srinagar for treatment. Locals pelted stones at security forces to obstruct the forces.

Sameer was a resident of Drabgam, Pulwama, and operated in the district. In November last year, Sameer posted a picture on social media in which he was holding the American M4 carbine in an orchard somewhere in southern part of Kashmir.

On April 24, four terrorists were killed in an encounter that broke out in Lam village of Tral in Pulwama district in Jammu and Kashmir. Two security personnel were also martyred in the encounter. At the beginning of this month also, 13 terrorists were gunned down by security forces. More than 60 terrorists have been killed so far in 2018, whereas close to 30 security personnel laid down their lives.
