Telangana: 15 Killed, 7 injured After Tractor Falls Into Musi River Canal in Yadadri District

Hyderabad, June 24: Fourteen women and a child were killed after a tractor-trolley they were travelling in skidded and fell into the Musi river canal in Yadadri district near Vemulakonda village in Telangana, earlier today. Seven persons were also injured in the mishap. The injured persons were rushed to a nearby hospital. The tractor driver is absconding after the incident. The police have launched a search operation to nab the driver.
As per reports, the tractor driver lost control while avoiding a two-wheeler coming from the opposite direction and the trolley fell into the canal. The incident took place at around 10 am. Over 20 people were travelling on the trolley. According to a report published in The Hindu, Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao has directed officials to ensure proper treatment to that the injured.
In another accident, nine people were killed when an auto collided with a bus, while four others were injured in Kurnool district of Andhra Pradesh. The accident took place near Somayajulapalle village of Orvakallu block. According to police, the auto rickshaw was going on the wrong side of the Kurnool-Nandyal main road. On June 22, four members of a family were also killed in a road accident in Telangana's Peddapalle district.
