New Delhi, April 11: In a horrifying incident, a protestor demanding setting up of a separate Cauvery board committee got electrocuted in Tamil Nadu on Wednesday. A close look at the video shows that two men climbed on the train and started walking, where one of them got electrocuted badly.
Ignoring the high-tension wires above their heads, the two men were seen walking over the train, protesting for setting up a separate Cauvery board. Reports state that he was a Pattali Makkal Katchi (PMK) protester, demanding Cauvery board committee with various others. As per reports by CNN News 18, the incident took place in Viluppuram.

Reports inform that the man, identified as 32-year-old Ranjith, was part of the rail mariyal (protest by blocking trains) staged by the PMK over the Cauvery issue. Reports by the News Minute inform that that Ranjith was immediately rushed to the hospital and was hospitalised at JIPMER in Puducherry.
DMK working president M.K. Stalin announced his party’s support to the bandh called by PMK on April 11 to demand that the central government constitute the Cauvery Management Board (CMB) and Cauvery Water Regulatory Committee (CWRC) immediately.
Tamil Nadu has been witnessing protests for the past one week urging the Centre to constitute the Cauvery Management Board (CMB) in compliance with the February 16 order of the Supreme Court on the water sharing dispute with Karnataka. According to a PTI report, the political parties and outfits have demanded that Indian Premier League (IPL) matches not be held at a time when the state was witnessing widespread agitations on the vexed issue.
