Mumbai, May 23: Addressing the nation on the 43rd edition of Mann Ki Baat, Prime Minister Narendra Modi announced the launch of the government’s special summer internship programme -Swachh Bharat Summer Internship 2018 . He urged students to make use of their summer holidays properly by joining the summer internship programme and contributing towards a clean India. The Swachh Bharat Summer internship aims to promote the message of sanitation-related work and increase mass awareness of the Swachh Bharat Mission.
How to Apply for Swachh Bharat Summer Internship Programme
You need to login into www.sbsi.mygov.in, and create your account there. After enrolling in Academic/Institutions or Nehru Yuva Kendra Sangathan, put your name, email id, mobile number to register on MyGov. In the next step, enter email or mobile number, and log in with OTP. Then fill the enrollment form. In case of any issue in registering, you have the option of raising a ticket under the relevant category, or you can get in touch with the helpline.
Important Dates to Remember
The enrollment date for the internship programme is from April 25, 2018, to June 15. One needs to put in at least 100 hours (between May 1 to July 31, 2018).
Eligibility
Candidates enrolled in college/ universities can apply for this internship programme. The students also have the liberty of choosing between the state of residence and state of the institution. One can participate as a team, as well as an individual. Maximum ten students can participate in one team.
Nodal Officer
A Nodal officer is an authorised official from University/ College/ District Youth Coordinator (NYKS) who verifies the details of the students as applied in the form. The officer's name and address get displayed on the form, once you select your college/district from the drop-down menu. If the registration request has been rejected, you can log in to your account, and see the reason behind it, and do the needful to revive it.
Awards
Each participant will be given 2 UGC credits, besides cash prizes for the top candidates. The best three interns/ teams will be recognised at college, university, state and national levels. At the University level, Rs 30,000, Rs 20,000, Rs 10,000 along with appropriate certificates. At the state level, there is Rs 50,000, Rs 30,000, Rs 20,000 along with appropriate certificates, and Rs 2 lakh, Rs 1 lakh, Rs 50,000 along with proper certificates have been announced for winners at the national level.
So this summer, don't crib, if the streets near you are dirty, or in a mess, you can contribute towards cleanliness by joining the government's summer internship programme.
