New Delhi, Jan 16: Amid the ongoing rift within the apex judiciary, the Chief Justice of India Deepak Misra attempted to break ice on Tuesday as he met the four senior-most judges who dissented against him in public.
Justice Misra reportedly held a meet lasting 15 minutes with the four judges - Justices Jasti Chelameswar, Madan B Lokur, Ranjan Gogoi and Kurien Joseph. Senior SC judge A K Sikri was also part of meeting, TOI claimed.

Even as the CJI's meet with the four dissident judges is seen as a step towards reconcilement, Attorney General KK Venugopal backtracked from his earlier statement, saying that the issue has not been resolved.
"I think it has not been settled. Let's hope things will be fully settled within 2-3 days," Venugopal said, a day after he claimed that the crisis at the top court has been resolved.
The unprecedented rift within the apex court ranks became public after the four dissenting judges addressed an extraordinary press conference on Friday. Their major plight was the alleged high-handedness adopted by the CJI, who is the master of the court's roster, while allotting the cases.
Following their public outburst, at least two top lawyers' group - the Supreme Court Bar Association (SCBA) and the Bar Council of India (BCI) - met the CJI to discuss the issue.
SCBA president Vikas Singh, after meeting the CJI, said their delegation has been assured that the matter would be resolved in within the next few days. "By the end of this week the crisis is likely to be resolved," Singh told PTI.
