New Delhi, March 23: Congress Chairperson Sonia Gandhi has been taken to Delhi from Shimla after she complained of restlessness on Friday. Sonia had visited Shimla along with her daughter Priyanka Gandhi Vadra to inspect her under-construction house at Chharabra.

The Former Congress President complained of restlessness on Thursday night, following which she was taken to Delhi. According to officials, her health complication was mainly due to cold conditions after the temperature dipped following rains in Shimla.

As per reports, security agencies immediately got in touch with the authorities at Indira Gandhi Medical College in Shimla. Senior Medical Superintendent at Indira Gandhi Medical College (IGMC) Hospital Dr Ramesh Chand said he received a call from the doctor accompanying Sonia Gandhi asking for arranging an ambulance for her. “Her condition was stable. She took a short break after traveling on the Shimla-Panchkula road, and stayed at a hotel near Panchkula before a special flight was arranged for to travel to Delhi this morning. She reached the Panchkula hotel at around 2.35 am,” Dr Chand added.

As per reports by ANI, Sonia Gandhi soon left in her own car and the ambulance along with a team of doctors joined the entourage on the way. The Congress leader had a brief stop at Panchkula on her way to Delhi, Dr Chand said.

As per reports by HT, Priyanka’s cottage, located close to the President of India’s summer holiday retreat in Chharabra is nearing completion. The report further adds that the cottage, spread over 3.5 bighas (a bigha is about 0.4 hectare), is situated at a height of more than 8,000 feet amid verdant pine and cedar trees.
