Srinagar, June 28: The Jammu and Kashmir police held a press conference and claimed to have solved the Shujaat Bukhari murder case. A day after issuing a statement in which the Jammu & Kashmir police said that two Kashmiris and one Pakistani was involved in the murder, the police on Thursday said that they have very strong and "tangible evidence" of terrorist organisation Lashkar-e-Taiba- LeT's involvement in the case and said that the plan to kill the Rising Kashmir Editor Shujaat Bukhari was hatched in Pakistan.

S P Pani, IGP, Kashmir Range, in the press conference held at 4.30 pm on Thursday said that "Today we are going to release four photographs of four accused, who are the prime accused in the case."  He said that the main reason why the conference was held was to inform everyone that the law is on the lookout for the four accused who have been named and whose photos have been shared by the police.

The four suspects he named are Sajjad Gul, Azad Dadda, Muzaffar Ahmad, and Nabid Jatt. S P Pani said that out of the four accused, Sajjad Gul is based in Pakistan. Azad Dadda is from Anantnag and has been a Laskar Operative said the IG of Kashmir Range, S P Pani. The third accused is Muzaffar Ahmad who is an important LeT operative and the fourth suspect is Nabid Jatt, who is from South Kashmir. The IG added that the conspiracy to kill Shujaat had two levels to it. The first was spreading false rumours on social media through inflammatory write-ups and the second was executing the killing of Rising Kashmir Editor Shujaat Bukhari which was planned in Pakistan and executed by the four suspects whose photos were released in the press conference.

He said that there are tangible evidence that the conspiracy was hatched in Pakistan and was executed by the Lashkar-e-Taiba operatives. He said that a press release of the conference will be soon made available to the media.
