Srinagar, June 15: The fourth suspect whose photograph was released by the Jammu and Kashmir police in the killing of veteran journalist and Rising Kashmir Editor Shujaat Bukhari in Srinagar has been arrested. Bukhari was shot dead on Thursday evening at his office in Press Enclave in Srinagar. Two police personnel were also martyred in the attack.
Insspector General of Jammu and Kashmir, SP Pani, while addressing a press conference said, "The first picture of the suspects were not in the public domain. The second picture was in public domain. It can be seen that he stood there, attempting to retrieve the weapon. An SIT has been formed, DIG central Kashmir is heading it." Pani also said that the fourth suspect in the killing of Bukhari had been identified. According to the police, the role of the fourth suspect was the recovery of the pistol. Investigation of the case is underway.

The man in the photograph was seen in the videos of the incident which were circulating on the internet since yesterday. Earlier, The J-K police had also released CCTV visuals of three men on a motorcycle who are suspected to have killed the senior journalist. The police have also sought help from the public in identifying all the four suspects.
Bukhari was shot dead around 7:30 pm on Thursday evening outside his office in Srinagar when he was leaving for Iftar party. His last rites were carried out in Baramullah today. According to reports, Pakistan Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI) is suspected behind the killing. In another incident, the Indian Army soldier, Aurangzeb was also killed by terrorists. He belonged to Poonch in Jammu and Kashmir.
