What Is Shillong Teer?

An archery competition, the Shilling Teer games are played at the Shillong Polo Stadium. The eight games require participants to place bets on numbers ranging between 0 to 999. Tickets for the teer games cost between INR 1 and INR 50. The speculative lottery game requires archers to shoot arrows at a designated target. Only the last two digits of the total number of arrows hitting the target are picked up as winning numbers. As the names suggest, the teer games are based on areas of Meghalaya and Northeast sates such as Khanapara, Jowai and Ladrymbai.
