The report will be now submitted to state home department to decide further course of action.
Mumbai, May 31: Sheena Bora-murder case prime accused Indrani Mukherjea who fainted in Byculla jail and admitted to JJ Hospital of Mumbai earlier due to the drugs overdose. After the incidence, the jail security drew a lot of flak since it was alleged that Indrani smuggled the medicines. A report prepared by jail officials confirms the same. The report will be now submitted to state home department to decide the further course of action, according to a news report in The Hindustan Times .
Contrary to the probe reports, earlier Indrani alleged in CBI court that someone wanted to kill her. As per Indrani's claim, she was given drugs without her knowledge.
Indrani procured the anxiety drug, Benzodiazepine, when she was outside the jail and managed to smuggle it in, despite being examined thoroughly while entering the jail premises, according to jail reports. The report, however, does not throw light on how Indrani got the pills inside, amid tight security.
After the incident, Bipin Bihari, director general (law and order and prisons) has sought a probe by a separate agency to find out how Indrani got the pills. Bihari was quoted as saying,“I have asked the additional director general of police (prisons) to submit a report to the state government." After probe was initiated, the officials questioned almost 30 people which included Indrani's husband Peter Mukherjea, and former husband Sanjeev Khanna whom she met on that day. Their statements were recorded to corroborate the events that unfolded out that day.
