Lucknow, May 16: In response to an RTI query, the President's secretariat has revealed that two cases of sexual harassment were filed in the Rashtrapati Bhavan since the promulgation of Sexual Harassment of Women at Workplace (Prevention, Prohibition and Redressal) Act, 2013. Responding to a poser by social activist Nutan Thakur, Deputy Secretary J.G. Subramanian revealed that two complaints were filed and both were enquired into.
In his reply dated May 9, 2018, Subramanian said one of the complaints was found to be false while in another case, the accused employee was found guilty. The names and other details related to the two cases were not divulged as it is prohibited under the Act. Thakur had sought information about the number of complaints filed at Rashtrapati Bhavan since the promulgation of the Act and the result of their enquiries.
