Senior BJP MP Chintaman Wanaga From Maharashtra Collapses at Home; Dies

The senior BJP MP, Chintaman Wananga, had successfully fought elections from the Palghar constituency in Maharashtra.

Chintaman Wanaga, a senior Bharatiya Janata Party leader, passed away in Delhi, earlier on Tuesday. The 67-year-old politician was a Member of Parliament from Maharashtra. As per the report in The Tribune, the doctors said the BJP MP was brought to the hospital after collapsing at home in the morning. After repeated efforts to save him, they were not able to save him.

As per the statement of RML Hospital medical superintendent Dr. VK Tiwary in The Tribune, “Chintaman Wanaga was brought to the hospital around 11.15 a.m. We tried to resuscitate him for 30 minutes but he could not be revived. He was declared brought dead at around 12.45 a.m.” The cause of the death is not identified and is still under investigation.

Former Railway Minister and current Minister of Commerce and Industry, Suresh Prabhu, tweeted, "MP from Palghar(Mah)my dear friend, Long time colleague Chintaman Wanaga sadly passes away, due to a massive heart attack.

Condolences RIP"

He was elected to Parliament after he won the 16th Lok Sabha Elections. Wanaga was born on June 1, 1950. He was an advocate by qualification from Mumbai University and also served as the President of BJP's Thane district office from 1990 to 1996. He is survived by his wife and four children.
