New Driving License Rules

The Ministry of Road Transport and Highways has announced new regulations for obtaining a driving license. Starting June 1, individuals will have the option to take driving tests at private training centers, eliminating the compulsion to undergo tests exclusively at government Regional Transport Offices (RTOs). Along with this, the new rules include stricter penalties for driving without a valid license, with fines now reaching up to Rs 2,000. For minors caught driving, the penalties are more severe, including a Rs 25,000 fine and potential action against the parents, as well as the cancellation of the vehicle’s registration certificate.

Aadhaar Card Update

Aadhaar card holders can update their information online until June 14. Additionally, users can choose to update their Aadhaar card offline by paying a nominal fee of Rs 50 per update.

LPG Cylinder Price Revision

Oil companies will revise liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) cylinder prices on June 1. This monthly price revision practice impacts household budgets, as LPG is a crucial fuel source for many Indian households. Earlier in the month of May, oil companies reduced the prices of commercial cylinders.

Bank Holidays in June

According to the Reserve Bank of India (RBI)'s holiday calendar, banks will remain closed for ten days in June. These designated holidays include Sundays, second and fourth Saturdays, and other specific holidays such as Raja Sankranti and Eid-ul-Adha. It is advised to check the holiday list before going to the bank.
