Rohan More From Pune Becomes Youngest in The World to Complete Ocean Seven Challenge: See Proud Pic With Tricolour

Rohan, a resident of Senapati Bapat Road in Pune is the ninth person to complete it. Stephen Redmond of Ireland was the first person ever to complete all seven swims.

Mumbai, February 11: A Pune based swimmer has become the youngest in the world and the first Asian to complete the Ocean Seven Challenge. Rohan More, the 32-year-old swimmer has broken all records and has also become the 9th person in the world to complete the world's toughest ocean channels.

The determined lad completed the Marathon by swimming across Cook Strait which is between the north and south islands of New Zealand in 8 Hours 37 Minutes on February 9.

List of Ocean’s Seven Channel Swims

  1. The Irish or North Channe which is between Ireland and Scotland, 21 miles (34 km)
  2. The Cook Strait which is between New Zealand’s North and South Islands, 16 miles (26km)
  3. The Moloka’i or Kaiwi Channel which is between Hawaiian islands of Moloka’i and O’ahu, 27 miles (44km)
  4. The English Channel which is between England and France, 21 miles (34km)
  5. The Catalina Channel which is between Santa Catalina Island and Los Angeles, 21 miles (34km)
  6. The Tsugaru Strait which is between the Japanese islands of Honshu and Hokkaido, 12 miles (20km)*
  7. The Strait of Gibraltar which is between Spain and Morocco, 8 miles (14km)

The Ocean's Seven marathon consists of seven long-distance open-water swims, and is considered the marathon swimming equivalent of the Seven Summits mountaineering challenge. It includes the North Channel, the Cook Strait, the Molokai Channel, the English Channel, the Catalina Channel, the Tsugaru Strait and the Strait of Gibraltar.  Rohan, a resident of Senapati Bapat Road in Pune is the ninth person to complete it.
