Jaipur, April 12: At least seven people have lost their lives while several others were injured after heavy rainfall lashed areas of Rajasthan on Wednesday. Heavy to very heavy rainfall coupled with the gusty surface wind was reported in parts of Rajasthan. Waterlogging was also reported after heavy rain in Rajasthan's Dholpur area.
According to a report by Skymet Weather, the Western Disturbance is over Jammu and Kashmir and adjoining areas which has led to rainfall in Jammu and Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand and Rajasthan. It must be noted that the Western Disturbance has induced cyclonic circulation over Pakistan and adjoining Northwest India.

As per reports, a trough is extending from this across Haryana and Uttar Pradesh which will lead to scattered rain and thundershowers with isolated dust storm over Punjab, Haryana, North Rajasthan, Delhi and West Uttar Pradesh. Intensity will be much more over the foothills of Punjab.

The report further informs that Punjab, Haryana, West Uttar Pradesh, North Rajasthan and Delhi that falls in the northwestern region of the Indo-Gangetic Plains have been recording some pre-Monsoon rains for the last two to three days.
Earlier this week, the desert state of the country, Rajasthan recorded some rainy spells especially in the northern parts of the state. Reports by Skymet Weather informed that areas such as Alwar, Bharatpur, Churu, Dausa, Dhaulpur, Jaipur, Jhunjhunun, Karauli, Nagaur, Sawai Madhopur and Sikar witnessed dust storm and thundershowers.
