Rajasthan Rain & Thunderstorm Creates Havoc: Several Die, 100 Injured
The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) had predicted that monsoon is likely to be normal this year.
Rajasthan, April 3: Heavy rains and thunderstorms have created havoc in various parts of the state. Reportedly, 22 people have lost their lives in total, and more than 100 people are left injured as the storm wreaked havoc. In Alwar, the ruckus was caused after, electricity poles and trees fell on the cars and roads, creating several blockages and creating destruction. Road accidents took lives in Rajasthan which occurred due to dust storm and heavy rains.
Rajasthan Congress Chief, Sachin Pilot, has also expressed his grief on the incident, which has led to the demise of people in his state.
Last month also, at least seven people lost their lives while several others were injured after heavy rainfall lashed areas of Rajasthan. Heavy to very heavy rain coupled with the gusty surface wind was reported in parts of Rajasthan.
People in Punjab also faced a lot of problems, as wheat, and other crops got destroyed because of the sudden rainfall. Heavy rains also lashed in Delhi and NCR area and the pre-monsoon shower brought huge relief to the residents of the Delhi from the scorching heat.
Weather forecasting app, Skymet had predicted dust storm and thundershower activities over Punjab, Delhi, Haryana, North Rajasthan and West Uttar Pradesh on Wednesday. The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) had predicted that monsoon is likely to be normal this year.
