In an extremely shameful incident of sexual harassment, a 40-year old Railway Guard was recently arrested for flashing at a college student on a train in the trans-harbour line. As per reports, the 20-year-old student from Ghansoli, Navi Mumbai, was returning home in a Thane-bound train on the day of the incident. “She alighted from the train and was walking towards the staircase at Ghansoli, when the guard, who was in his cabin, flashed her,” said Samadhan Pawar, deputy commissioner of police (GRP).
Reports highlight that since the student was so startled, she was unable to raise any alarm at that point of time. Later, she approached the Railway Police and filed a complaint. Following a complaint, a case of molestation was registered against the guard.
Based on the timing of the incident as mentioned by the victim, police used the information to nab the culprit. The accused, A.K. Singh was later produced before a court in Bhoiwada in Mumbai, which granted him bail.
