Pune-Satara Highway Tragedy: 17 Dead, 15 Injured in Accident Near Khandala
The injured have been admitted to the hospital and people who were died, their bodies have been sent for postmortem.
Pune, April 10: In a very fatal road accident on the Pune-Satara Highway, 17 people have died and more than 15 have been injured. According to ANI, the accident happened after the truck they were travelling in hit a barricade near Khandala. According to reports, the deceased are mainly construction labourers. The injured have been admitted to Khandala hospital and people who died, their bodies have been sent for postmortem.
Reportedly, all the workers were from Karnataka and they were travelling in a tempo truck from Satara, when the mishap took place. In 2014, a luxury bus had toppled in a similar manner near the 'S' shape in which 10 people from Gujarat had also lost their lives.

Similar incident happened on April 9 in Himachal Pradesh, as 30 people, including 27 children were killed, when a school bus fell into a deep gorge in Kangra district of Himachal Pradesh. The bus driver and two women teachers also died in the accident. According to reports, 45 students of Wazir Ram Singh Pathania Memorial Public School were returning home when the bus skidded off the road and fell into the 100-feet deep gorge near Gurchal village on the Nurpur-Chamba road. The rescuers faced difficulty in pulling out the victims from the mangled bus.
