Pune, April 9: In another shameful incident in the city of Pune in Maharashtra, a 14-year-old boy from Dehu Road has been accused for allegedly raping her 3-year-old neighbour at Dehu Road. According to an ANI report, a complaint has been registered against the accused under section 376 of IPC and POCSO Act for allegedly raping a 3 year-old at Dehu Road. The incident took place on 6 April, while the girl was playing next to her house.
In January this year, a girl was shot in Meerut's Kithore area after allegedly being raped. In a spine-chilling incident, which came to the news few days back, a 20-year-old woman in Madhya Pradesh's Satna district reached the police superintendent's office to file a rape complaint carrying her four-month-old foetus in a bag. The woman alleged that she was raped by four people for months and was forced to abort the baby. Bhopal Police in order to publicly shame the accused, paraded four men, accused of gang-raping a 20-year old girl in the busy streets of the city few days back. This new trend, is expected to instill fear among criminals.
Such inhuman incidents throw light on the safety of women and children in our country. It makes us question the law and order of our nation and with every passing day, the increase in numbers of molestation and sexual harassment, makes us lose faith in humanity. We can only hope for stronger punishments, which can help to curb such incidents in future.
