Petrol, Diesel Prices Cut For Seventh Straight Day: Check City-Wise Rates For Today

New Delhi, June 5: The prices of petrol and diesel were cut for the seventh straight day on Tuesday as petrol dropped by 13 paise in all metros and state capitals, while the rate of diesel went down by as much as 11 paise.

With the seventh consecutive reduction in fuel prices, the petrol rate has come down to Rs 85.65 in Mumbai, whereas, the per litre of diesel in the city will be charged at Rs 73.33. Meanwhile, petrol in Delhi will be charged at Rs 77.83, whereas, the per litre price of diesel in the national capital is Rs 68.88.

The spree of reductions in fuel prices, over the past seven days, was preceded by unprecedented hike in petrol and diesel rates for sixteen straight days. Under flak for raising the fuel charge by upto Rs 10 per litre within a span of fortnight, the government said the hike is necessitated due to the surging crude oil prices.
