New Delhi, September 3: The Passport Seva Portal, temporarily down for technical maintenance, was restored ahead of schedule on September 2. The outage disrupted applications, appointments, and services. With the site back online, citizens can now resume accessing services. Here's how to book a passport appointment online. 

The Passport Seva portal was down for technical maintenance from August 29, 2024, at 8:00 PM IST to September 2, 6:00 AM IST. During this period, the system was unavailable to citizens and authorities. How To Make Online Appointment Booking for Passport 

One can easily book an online appointment for the passport by visiting the Passport Seva Portal and following these steps -

• Register on the Passport Seva Online Portal. Click "Register Now" on the home page.
• Log in with your registered ID.
• Select "Apply for Fresh/Re-issue of Passport."
• Fill out and submit the form.
• Schedule an appointment by clicking "Pay and Schedule Appointment."
• Payment is mandatory and can be made using a Credit/Debit Card (MasterCard/Visa), Internet Banking (SBI and other banks), or an SBI Bank Challan.
