Mandla, April 24: Prime Minister Narendra Modi will launch the Rashtriya Gramin Swaraj Abhiyan in Mandla district of Madhya Pradesh on the National Panchayati Raj Day today. The Prime Minister will also take part in the ‘Aadi Mahotsav’ event which will showcase heritage of tribals in the region.

Rashtriya Gramin Swaraj Abhiyan will be launched by PM Modi at a public meeting. He will also address Panchayati Raj representatives across the nation.

With the view of overall development of tribal over the next five year, The Prime Minister will unveil a road map. A plaque will also be unveiled by PM Modi to mark the laying of foundation stone of an LPG bottling plant of Indian Oil Corporation at Maneri in Mandla district, reported news agency PTI. According to an official press release, The Prime Minister will also launch local government directory.

Sarchpanchs of the villages will also be facilitated by PM Modi for achieving 100 percent smokeless kichens, full vaccination under Mission Indradhanush, and 100 per cent electrification under Saubhagya Scheme, the press release said.

Around 3pm the Prime Minister will fly back to Jabalpur. According to an official, tight security arrangements for PM Modi’s Ramnagar’s visits are being made. Ramnagar is situated on the banks the Narmada river. A number of ancient monuments associated with the Gond rulers are situated in the town. Ramnagar is surrounded by thick forests. Mandla Member of Parliament Faggan Singh Kulaste appreciated PM’s efforts for the upliftment of the tribals.  According to him, ‘Aadi Mahotsav’is aimed at showcasing the rich heritage and traditions of tribals.
