Mumbai, March 19: Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) leader Nitin Nandgaonkar today broke the windshield of a taxi which was plying despite the strike called by Ola and Uber Drivers in Mumbai. The act of vandalism was caught on camera. Earlier in the day, there was a report that Mumbai Police had issued notice to Maharashtra Navnirman Vahatuk Sena leaders Arif Shaikh, Nitin Nandgaokar and Sanjay Naik under Section 149 of the Criminal Procedure Code to prevent unlawful assembly.
In the video, MNS leader Nitin Nandgaonkar can be seen breaking the car's windshield and warning the taxi driver saying that "No cabs, all the cabs should be closed," referring to the Ola Uber strike called by the drivers. The Maharashtra Navnirman Vahatuk Sena has supported the strike and warned drivers to stay off the road:

Ola and Uber drivers are on a strike to protest against what they claim to be inadequate remuneration. The indefinite strike, which starts from today, has been called and supported by the transport wing of the Maharashtra Navnirman Sena in Mumbai.
Talking about the issue, Sanjay Naik of Maharashtra Navnirman Vahatuk Sena told ANI, "We demand that Ola and Uber taxis agree to the laws by which the yellow-black taxis are run. They are doing business unlawfully: Sanjay Naik, MNS on strike of Ola and Uber taxi drivers called by Maharashtra Navnirman Vahtuk Sena in #Mumbai."

With Ola and Uber cabs staying away from Mumbai roads both due to the strike and threat by MNS leaders, Mumbaikars can brace themselves for transport trouble. "We have been informed by the Mumbai Police that they have proactively taken all the necessary steps to ensure safety of commuters during the cab rides in the city,” an Ola spokesperson said. According to reports, cab drivers in Delhi, Bengaluru, Hyderabad have also joined the protest but it's not as widespread or intense as the strike in Mumbai.
