Ola Cab Driver Arrested for Molesting Woman in Bengaluru, Cab Company Issues Statement

The woman, who had taken the tab from her residence in Bangalore to the Bengaluru International Airport was molested during the journey.

An Ola cab driver has been arrested from Bengaluru for molesting a woman passenger and a case has been registered against the driver under the Indian Penal Code(IPC). The incident is said to have taken place on June 1. The woman, who had taken the tab from her residence in Bangalore to the Bengaluru International Airport was molested during the journey.

As per media reports, the cab driver also took pictures of the woman after forcing her to strip. The woman was one her way to the airport for boarding a Mumbai bound flight and had booked the cab at around 2 am. The driver took a different route than he was supposed to have taken and after the woman asked regarding the reason for diversion, he said that he was taking the shortest route.

Ola has issued a statement regarding the issue saying that, "We regret the unfortunate experience the customer had. We've zero tolerance for such incidents & driver's been blacklisted. Safety of customers our top priority. We're extending full support to police in probe".
