Odisha, March 28: In a shocking incident, a woman allegedly burnt her husband to death at their house after he reportedly thrashed her and their children after getting drunk. The incident took place at their house in Jaipur district's Saruabili area. As per details by Police, the deadly incident took place on Sunday night. According to a PTI report, the 36-year-old man died on Monday at a hospital in Cuttack after he suffered severe injuries.
The man has been identified as Subash Singh. Singh who was a driver by profession, came home drunk and allegedly misbehaved with their elder daughter. Reports state that when the daughter opposed his 'indecent behaviour', he thrashed her up. When the incident happened, Singh's wife and the other daughter came to the rescue of the girl. Police informed the 36-year old man allegedly beat up his wife and the children.
According to a PTI report, Singh’s wife and his children then caught hold of him, tied his hands and legs. Anguished by his daily drunk behaviour, Subash's wife then doused him with kerosene and set him on fire, the police added. The Police said that his wife had been arrested by the police.
Reports informed that Subash called out for help after he was set on fire and the neighbours rushed to their house and doused the flame. The injured husband was taken to a nearby hospital after which he was shifted to SCB Medical College and Hospital in Cuttack on his condition deteriorating.
