Odisha, April 16: In a freaking accident, over four lakh Odisha government employees had to face problem as their salaries got delayed due to a lightning strike during a thunderstorm. According to a report on MoneyControl, the employees had to face problem due to the sudden delay in salaries, which was due to a lightning during Nor’wester also known as Kal-baishakhi, that damaged the Human Resources Management System (HRMS) servers which are essential for dispensing the salary.

State Finance Minister Shashi Bhushan Behera said, "The lightning triggered the power failure and damaged the servers. The strike caused a technical glitch in the system. As there is no manual system, employees have to wait till the system is made functional again. It would take a few days before the system is set right,” he explained.

According to reports, usually, employees receive their salary at the end of the month or the first week of the next month directly in their bank accounts.
