24th January is celebrated as National Girl Child Day every year in India. The celebrations took place to offer added support and new opportunities to the girls and to propagate the concept of gender equality in the nation. Every girl child in the country is as important as their male counterparts in shaping our future. To boost and cherish the day, many eminent personalities took to the social media forum for expressing their thoughts and views. Prime Minister Narendra Modi, former Indian batsman Virender Sehwag, Minister of Commerce and Industry Suresh Prabhu, West Bengal Chief Minister Mamta Banerjee and many more tweeted to wish and enrich the act more vigorously.
