National Bravery Awards 2017-18: Prime Minister Narendra Modi Honours 18 Kids for Their Courage
Prime Minister Narendra Modi honored 18 fearless kids of the nation honored with National Bravery Awards this year.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi honored 18 fearless kids of the nation honored with National Bravery Awards this year. These little brave hearts has been awarded for their courageous activities for the society. President Ramnath Kovind will host a reception for these young brave stars of the country. As per reports it has been so far declared that seven girls and 11 boys will be attending the Republic Day parade show on January 26 that will be held in the national capital.
The Prime Minister praised the exemplary skills of the awardees’ that has left mark in the society. “Over the years most of the children who I have given bravery awards are from the rural and simple background, an example of their resolve. I congratulate the awardees, their guardians, and their teachers”, said PM. Delhi Chief minister Arvind Kejriwal praised these brave hearts of India saying the entire country is proud to have them.
Here’s the look on the daring hearts of our country:
1. Karanbeer Singh
17-year-old Karanbeer is one of the daring star among the list of 18. This 12th standard DAV school took the courage heart to save the school bus he was returning back which fell into drain in Muhawa village in Amritsar district. Seven lost their lives but he saved 15 minor lives in this tragic incident. Karanbeer was from Gaguwal village in Amritsar.
2. Mamata Dalai
This 6-year-old girl from Kendrapara district of Odissa was taking bath in a pond along with Asanti Dalai. While 5-feet crocodile attacked Asanti. It creates an obvious moment for an adult to run away from the incident but this little heart took the step and fought against the trap.
3. Netravati M Chavan
Netravati was 14-year-old girl from Bagalkot district of Karnataka. She lost her life saving the two boys getting drowned. Natravati managed to rescue 16-year-old Muthu but she failed to save 10-year-old Ganesh and during that she lost her life. Her father will receive the award.
4. F Lalchhandama
17-year-old brave Mizoram boy Lalchhandama lost his life attempting to save friends who slipped into the Tlawng River. They went there after writing the test. But either could be saved unfortunately. The brave child aimed to be a cardiologist in future.
5. Betshwajohn Lyngdoh Peinlang
14-year-old Betshwajohn from a remote village of West Khasi Hills will receive National Bravery Award for his courage to save his little brother Arbius Lyngdoh Peinlang when their house broke out with flames.
6. Laxmi Yadav
Laxmi Yadav a resident of Raipur was abducted by three miscreants. They took her to an isolated area and tried to sexually assault her. She threw their bike keys away and managed to run away from the place and immediately went to nearby police station and not only that but she as well sent the criminals behind the bars. She had a bold heart which made her fight back against those men. This incident took place in the year 2016.
7. Sebastian Vincent
13-year-old teen Sebastian Vincent (Neeraj) from Kerala’s Alleppey. He was riding bicycle and his friend Abhijith was at the back of him. Suddenly his friend fell down on the railway track and couldn’t manage to come up as the train was approaching fast. Sebastian saw his friend in danger and moved to save him.
8. Samridhi Sushil Sharma
This 17-year-old Gujrat girl is among the one in the list of 18 to receive National Bravery Award 2017-18. It was July 2016, when a masked man entered her residence and pointed knife on her neck. She managed to twist but her left with a deep cut to the vein on her left hand and had to undergo two surgeries. Samridhi’s left ring finger is completely damaged for which she require another surgery.
9. Zonuntluanga
Zonuntluanga, is the another teen from Mizoram who saved his own father from the bear attack. He along with his father went to the forest to get some vegetables and in a meanwhile a bear attacked his father and wounded his face severely. This teen simply dragged the bear from the spot with some tricky minds.
10. Pankaj Semwal
Pankaj Semwal from Tehri garhwal of Uttarakhand showed his courage and saved his mother from the deadly attack of a leopard.
11. Nazia
A young girl of Mantola, Agra district took a brave step to help the local police in busting a betting racket in her locality. Nazia collected evidences against the men who were harassing the shopkeepers of Sadar Bhatti area, Agra. For her courage step four men got arrested.
12. Mansha N, N Shangpon Konyak and Yoaknei
Mansha N (13 years), N Shangpon Konyak (18 years) and Yoaknei (18 years) foiled a cold blooded murder of two kids by their father. Meribeni (3years) and Chumben (6years) were looked by Mansha after their mother’s death. The incident took place on August 7, 2016 where their father wanted to strangulate then to death. She rescued them and took along with her and was confronting the incident with N Shangpon Konyak and Yoaknei while by that time the kids’ father came with an axe and pointed on his son’s neck. Though the son was seriously injured but they managed to save him and informed the nearest police station and took the child to hospital.
13. Chingai Wangsa
Chingai Wangsa, 18-year-old when he rescued a 74 year old man from a burning house. The incident took place on September 4, 2016 in a village of Nagaland. When the entire village went to church and his neighbour house accidently caught a fire. He banged the door and rescued the old man from the burning house.
14. Nadaf Ejaj Abdul Rauf
Nadaf Ejaj Abdul Rauf from Maharashtra rescued two girls from a river at Nanded district on April 30, 2017. Few women and girls went to a bank of a water reservoir built on a river. One of the girl accidently slipped into the river and the others tried to rescue her but she also fell and went deep into it. However, knowing the fear, Nadaf continued his brave efforts to search in the 20 feet deep water. He succeeded to save two lives whereas unfortunately the lives of two other girls could not be saved.
15. Loukrakpam Rajeshwori Chanu
15-year-old Loukrakpam Rajeshwori Chanu from Manipur tried to rescue mother-daughter duo from a river with resolute spirit. Both were crossing a wooden suspension bridge and slipped and fell into the river. She saw and jumped to save the victims. The localities heard the screams of the duo and saved them but Rajeshwori was carried away by the turbulent storm and could not be traced. After three days of search, her body was found from the river.
16. Pankaj Kumar Mahanta
Pankaj Kumar Mahanta, 15-year-old from Odisha saved the lives of three elderly women who we spotted to slipped into the river while taking bath. The three women were much heavier in weight as compared to Pankaj, but his determination to save them was so strong that he succeeded to save their lives.
Salute to these 18 teens who showed their act of bravery and came forward to showcase their courage to save lives of many. There are many young brave little hearts in nation who fight courageously every day in every corner of the country. Let us come up with more gems like them.
