Mumbai, May 29: An alleged road rage incident in Mumbai's Dahisar area has claimed the life of a person. The incident happened in the early hours of Monday, when the deceased person named Yashodhara Shetty, along with friends, was headed to a bar but had an altercation with two motorists. The post-mortem report of Shetty is awaited, which will make it clear as to what exactly was the cause of his death.

Following the altercation and fight, Shetty and others involved were taken to the police station. Shetty, who said that he was unwell, started vomiting and collapsed, after which he was taken to the hospital where he was declared died at arrival. The police has said that Shetty and his friends were beaten by the motorists.

According to reports, Shetty lived with his sister and her family in Borivali East. A paan-beedi shop was run by him in Vile Parle West. After watching the IPL on Sunday night at a Suburban bar, Shetty and his friends were headed to a bar for drinks. While Shetty and his friends, who were in different autos, were on their way to a bar in Dahisar, that a scooter zoomed past the auto and slightly bruised it which somehow led to a scuffle between Shetty's friends and the motorists who are reported to be in their twenties. The police has registered a case of murder under the Indian Penal Code and other charges have been registered against the motorists.

However, Shetty's nephew claims that the auto driver has said that there was no scuffle and only an argument. He also said that there was a delay in conducting the autopsy. The police has arrested the two motorists from Mira Road on the basis of eyewitness accounts.
