Mumbai, June 25: Due to continues downpour in Mumbai since Sunday, people across the city have incurred losses in less than 24 hours. At least seven cars have been damaged after a wall of an under-construction building collapsed in Worli. According to a recent tweet by ANI, the incident took place at Vidyalankar road in Wadala's Antop Hill at 4.45 AM today.
The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation's (BMC) and fire officials have vacated an entire wing of the building. An official of the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation's (BMC) disaster management cell informed that all the residents have been evacuated and no casualty was reported in the incident.
Several parts of the city have witnessed water-logging due to the continued downpour. According to India Meteorological Department, continuous rains and thundershowers are likely to hit the city and suburbs today with some areas experiencing heavy to very heavy rains.
Colaba Observatory recorded 90 mm of rains, meanwhile, Santacruz observatory recorded 231 mm of monsoon rains in the last 24 hours. The BEST has diverted buses on 47 routes in eight waterlogged areas in island city and suburbs.

In wake of the ongoing turmoil caused due to heavy rainfall, the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) has put banners with helpline numbers for rain-related queries across the city. Meanwhile, subways in Andheri, Khar and Malad were water-logged led to slow-moving traffic. Earlier today, a container broke down on a bridge on the Eastern Express Highway, affecting in traffic during the morning rush hour. According to a tweet by Mumbai Police, traffic has been closed off at Khar subway in Santacruz, due to waterlogging and has been diverted to Link road.
